Bungalow 8 Reviews

  1. Firstly this is very different from Bungalow 8 New York. It’s a lot smaller. It doesn’t tend to get busy until late. Midnight, 1-2am are the best times to go. Before this it can be very quiet, although this is nice if you want a civilised drink with friends.

The music is generally very good. A good mix of 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and modern with some excellent boot-legs. The drinks are generally very good too although the bar staff can be a little off hand at times. Because there is no dance floor (there isn’t the space) when it gets going you just dance on chairs, in between tables and in the small space by the DJ. This is actually quite nice and intimate and means that you could well end up dancing next to some very famous people. The mix of people is very eclectic, in a good way.

Overall one of the better private bar/dance clubs in London. I wouldn’t compare this to Movida, Maddox or Cuckcoo because it’s really appealing to a different crowd. I’d treat it more as a bar than as a club. If this is what you’re looking for it is well worth a visit.

  2. As a table paying, London club-goer, club member I have found that the best club scenes in London all revolve around Bungalow 8, Maddox and Movida. Don’t waste your time anywhere else. These three clubs sustain the best crowd, the best drinks and the best atmosphere. Bungalow is clad with interesting people from all areas of artistic London, New York and Paris.

During my extensive time in B8, I have come across Miles Kane, Agyness Deyn, Gemma Ward, and Lindsay Lohan, all so commonly mixed with the other guests. This only happens in Bungalow 8, because B8 only accepts members with class and enough money to actually have a good time in the club. It must be horrible to have to be persecuted to the chavy club experience of Leicester Square.

  3. I can see this place polarises and it’s not really my kind of place either hence having managed to avoid it for so long. This said, despite the expensive drinks (what else can expect in a place like this) I had a fun night.

You need to take this place with a pinch of salt and a credit card, and you might have a good time. The music is pop party music, but that’s not a bad thing in a city which is all too often trying to be different.
